Alpine Shawl

I was out looking for a challenge when I came across a pattern for this shawl.
The pattern is available here.

Fleece Scarf

This is an amazingly warm scarf and makes a great present!

All you need is a piece of fleece measuring 40cm x 170cm.
Simply stitch up the short ends to form a big loop!

Squirrel Tote

This was made for my Nan's birthday.
It is just a simple tote (there are so many brilliant on-line patterns!) and a squirrel made from felt!

Granny Square Inspired Cowl

This is a pattern I pieced together, last year!

The scarf in the picture is made with 150grams of chunky weight wool.
the circumference is 125cm (49") and consists of 15 rows, including the foundation and final row.

Note: This pattern used UK crochet terminology and worked in the round.

Foundation
Foundation Single Crochet (FSC), in multiples of 3, to a length long enough to comfortably wrap around twice.
Join the chain, to make a loop, with a slip stitch.
The best explanation for FSC, I have found, is here.
Row 1
Chain 2 and in the same stitch 2 treble crochet, Chain 1, *in the third stitch from the previous treble, 3 treble crochet in to stitch, Chain 1*, repeat * to end & join with 3 slip stitch along the first set of treble's.
Row 2 to (or desired width!)
Chain 2 and in the same gap (between sets of trebles) 2 treble crochet, Chain 1, *3 treble crochet in to the next gap, Chain 1*, repeat * to end & join as Row 1.
These stitches should resemble the rounds in a granny square (but with no corners!)
Last Row
Double crochet in each stitch, join with slip stitch.
Now tie off and weave in ends.

The best thing about the pattern is it can be converted to any wool weight.
As long as you chain in multiples of 3, you're away.

A LOT of family and friends have received these as Christmas presents & everyone has loved them!

Kimono

I found this skirt in a charity shop & because it was pleated there was plenty of fabric to make a Kimono. I followed this pattern, just making it slightly longer.

Starry Night Tee

As a Trekkie, I couldn't resist the temptation of making my own Galaxy Tee.
I found a great tutorial here.

I pretty much followed here tutorial to the T.
The paints I used were Dylon Fabric paint in White, Deep Pink, Purple and Navy & of course bleach.

Tip: Place a large plastic bag over a clothes hanger & then place the tshirt over the hanger and the plastic bag. Great for the painting and also when it comes to hanging it to dry!

Live long and prosper!
